As a reader and amateur historian of the field of the fantastic, this is the type of publication I want to read.

If you have some time this weekend, you might want to take a look at the Skelos Magazine website, which is up and running.  All sorts of information is located there, including a plethora of different options for ordering the The Journal of Weird Fiction and Dark Fantasy.

The first issue is now shipping and this is one magazine you don’t want to miss out on.

Thoroughly disappointed with this. I backed it on kickstarter but the constant ‘updates’ just felt like spam and were deleted unread.

Even though they claimed it was completed there I never saw a full contents list of issue 1; I still don’t know what the unpublished Howard work is. Any idea?

When I signed into Kickstarter after the end of the fundraiser it turns out they were wanting more money for postage. A lot of kickstarter projects say ‘plus postage’ or ‘including postage’ (and crowdfunders on other sites such as indiegogo are a lot more specific with postage and add-ons) but this one didn’t. Fraid that was a deal breaker as I wasn’t prepared to give them more money so I just abandoned it.

I for one would be happy to increase my pledge to cover the postage because I know Tom and Arlene will make sure it gets done. Now if I could just figure out how to subscribe to the thing

Your choice Joe, and good luck. I made my choice not to be any further part of the campaign (even though I deleted my kickstarter account too late and the money was already taken from my credit card) and I don’t regret it. We need more magazines like this, but for me, not this one. Skelos 2 was supposed to be out last November but was still being worked on in February this year. Unacceptable, but you are free to call it acceptable and continue to get the magazine if you want. I believe you can subscribe at their website, separate from the campaign.
